What to Expect / What to Bring

- Bring water, wear comfortable athletic clothing, and come ready to participate.

- We provide loaner gear, explain the rules, and get you involved right away.

- Recommended bring/wear list: athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, water.
Garb (Clothing & Costuming)
Garb is your in-game clothing. Making your own is often cheaper, more customizable, and a good way to get involved with the community. Many players are happy to help new people get started.

Equipment (Weapons & Gear)
Amtgard uses safe, foam-padded weapons and equipment. You can borrow gear when you start, but many players eventually build their own. Making equipment is cost-effective and a core part of the hobby, and experienced players are usually willing to help.
Building your own equipment is a great way to learn the game and save money. Start simple, follow approved construction guidelines, and ask experienced players for help.

Supporting copy: This is a weekly battlegame and role-play park. We use foam-padded weapons and emphasize teamwork, safety, and sportsmanship. New and experienced players are welcome. Garb and class gear are encouraged, but not required for your first day.
